Cute little scrap haulers
cruising in sandcrawlers
swindling farmers and rubes
pawning junk off on noobs
poorly refurbished tech
faulty mechanical dreck
compulsive scavengers

But their robes are a disguise
‘cause their eyes
are yellow,
and they glow.
Their faces in shadow
as they go
to and fro,
and for once I’d like to know
what they won’t
ever show
what’s below
what’s below the hood

They travel with their clans
for most of their lifespans
wandering sandy roads
in their dusty robes
or riding on rontos
like cowboys on broncos
pint-sized hagglers

But their robes are a disguise
‘cause their eyes
are yellow,
and they glow.
Their faces in shadow
as they go
to and fro,
and for once I’d like to know
what they won’t
ever show
what’s below
what’s below the hood

They’re kind of humanoid,
it makes me paranoid
‘cause judging by their eyes,
they could be partly droid
and that would just be sad
to sell your own comrades
