lyrics

In the sands of the vast Dune Sea
on the planet Tatooine,
underneath a trio of moons,
lies the Great Pit of Carkoon,
a home as good as any
for a sarlacc.
except for one small thing
that’s a drawback.

It’s lonely.

‘Cause when you have to wait
for a fresh playmate
to fall within
(or be thrown in)
the wait can be quite brutal.

And it’s no surprise
when you’ve got no eyes,
and no brow to furrow,
deep in your burrow,
it can all seem rather futile.

Hungry. So hungry.
Feed me.
Hungry. So hungry.
Feed me.

Oh?

But when it finally comes,
fresh meat hits your dry gums.
Your beaked tongue rushes out
and starts thrashing about.
Your first layer of teeth,
and many underneath,
after waiting for years,
can swing into high gear.

A Trooper and a Jawa
cascading down through your maw,
delicious treats galore,
you’re happy as a spore.
The vessels do their thing,
attach to prey and sting.
The toxins do confuse,
and consciousness they lose,
They resign to their fate,
and then again you wait.

But you can focus your attention
on the process of digestion.
That’s how a sarlacc perseveres
because it takes a thousand years.

But when you live in a pit,
that’s it.
You’ve gotta commit.
